Kindering Center’s volunteers
are instrumental in meeting our mission. Volunteers range from
individuals, couples, and families to corporations, youth groups,
and community service agencies.
On-going volunteer opportunities
are available in the following areas:
Parenting Plus Volunteer
(NEW!)
We are
looking for a volunteer to oversee the front desk during our Monday
evening Parenting Plus program. They would greet participants and
assist the educator with light administrative work such as preparing
mailings, flyers and making copies. Monday evenings (except
holidays) from 5:45-7:00pm through the end of July.
Volunteer Receptionist:
The Receptionist is responsible for professional
operation of the reception area. S/he is responsible for greeting
visitors and families and notifying staff. S/he professionally
operates the phone system by answering incoming phone calls,
forwarding as appropriate, and serving as a central communication
point for agency and staff. The receptionist will assist the office
manager in other administrative duties assigned as necessary to
support the center.
The ideal candidate will be professional,
cheerful and outgoing toward incoming callers, families and others
in the reception area. S/he will have the ability to prioritize as
well as maintain focus while multi tasking.
Administrative Support: Volunteers are needed to
support various departments in the following areas: mailings, data
entry, filing, photocopying, etc.
Technical Support

Train our Staff!
We have an on-going need for
technological trainings. Staff have requested classes in
Excel, Access, Outlook, Photoshop, etc.
Average Commitment varies – quarterly
trainings are ideal.

Auction, November 2011

Event Support:
Various Roles during the day and night of the event

Event Prep:
Packaging night, making baskets, files, behind the scenes
work.
Committee:
Volunteers who have a particular skill or area of expertise are
encouraged to provide support in the following committees:
Development, Finance,
Excellence Task Force (Programs).
Building Maintenance:
Volunteers are need for help
around the center with landscaping, painting, cleaning, and
general handy work.
GROUP
OPPORTUNITIES
We are honored to have hosted
volunteer groups from The Seattle Seahawks, Boeing, Microsoft,
Telephone Pioneers, United Way Alexis de Toqueville Society, Hall
Kinion & Associates, Camp Fire Boys & Girls, and The Overlake
School. The following are just a few projects that these groups
helped with:

Landscaping and painting

cleaning and repairing toys and therapy equipment

mailing campaigns

decorated and designed holiday cards

procured auction items

hosted
a picnic for our children, and many more.
