Components of CUBS
1) Enrollment in our high quality
integrated toddler preschool, "Stepping Stones", 2 days a
week, 2 hours in length. Program includes:
o
Appropriate curriculum to meet individual child’s needs
within natural contexts.
o
Activity based intervention
o
Effective instructional strategies
o
Opportunities for children to successfully interact with
their peers
o
Responsive and predictable environment
o
Strategies to program for the generalization of behavior
2) Intensive Individualized instruction 2
hours, 3 days a week.
o
Increased intensity and support to children. Teaching strategies may include:
o
Naturalistic teaching
strategies
o
Response prompting
strategies
o
Activity based
instruction
o
Discrete trial teaching
methodology
o
Relationship
Development Intervention
3)
Technical and social support for family members that may include:
o
Consultation to address issues at home or in the community.
o
Supervision & Set up of child's home-based program.
o
Related services in the form of Speech Therapy,
Occupational/Physical Therapy, or Feeding Therapy
o
Educational workshops on various topics of interest.
o
Support groups and counseling through our family services
department.

Transition support into their school district program that can
include:
o
Skills children will need to be successful in their next
environment will be addressed in the current program.
o
Visits to school district's programs
o
Collaboration and coordination with child's school district

Collaboration and coordination across services that can include:
o
Attending team meetings of other service providers
o
Collaborative emails between parents, CUBS and other service
providers.
