Early
Childhood Special Educator (Spanish-Speaking)
The
Early Childhood Special Educator will provide culturally
relevant early intervention services for Latino families in
their home, in the community or in a classroom environment.
This will include developing, coordinating and implementing
an educational program for each enrolled child addressing
cognitive, social and adaptive strengths and challenges.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to
curriculum planning and implementation; formal evaluations
and progress reports; participation in development of
Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) as part of a
transdisciplinary team; conducting home visits or other
programs as assigned; and coordination of enrollment with
Family Resources Coordinator (FRC) into appropriate
community or Kindering Center programs, support groups and
other services.
Requirements include:

B.A. degree in Special Education, Early Childhood
Special Education, or a related field; Master’s degree
preferred.

Washington State teaching certificate, provisional
certificate or teaching certificate in process.

Practical experience in early childhood education and
working with children with special needs.

Fluent in Spanish, native speaker strongly preferred.
