VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Kindering volunteers help us fulfill our mission. Volunteers range from individuals, couples, and families to corporations, youth groups, and community service agencies.

*NEW* Volunteer Opportunities

Building Maintenance

  • Help to DEEP Clean our classroom Kitchen. Approximately 6 hours initially (hours can be flexible), then 1 – 2 hours per month.
  • Help to put away Costco items, restock and maintain resource room. Approximately 1 hour per week.

Family Resource Department

  • Help us update our resource lists - We are looking for 1-3 brave volunteers to help us make sure that we have comprehensive and accurate information for our families! Volunteers would need to feel comfortable making phone calls, conducting internet research, and updating lists. This project should take an estimated 20 hours total. Hours can be flexible.
  • Eastside Baby Corner Pick-up & Delivery - Pick up requests from families at Eastside Baby Corner, Deliver and distribute items at Kindering. When: Thursdays (semi flexible times).

General Office Assistant
Filing & Mailings, 1 - 4 hours per week, Flexible days and times.

Program Outreach for the Parent-Child Home Program
Attend community events and sit at booth to answer questions and promote the program, Approximately 3 hours per week, Days and hours vary.

Ongoing Opportunities

Administrative Support: Support various departments in the following areas: mailings, data entry, filing, photocopying, etc.

Classroom Support: work in our award winning Stepping Stones Toddler Preschool, Family Co-Op and other classroom placements.

Therapy Support: Clean and organize materials, inventory supplies and make adaptive equipment.

Technical Support: Train our Staff! We have an on-going need for technological trainings. Staff have requested classes in Excel, Access, Outlook, Photoshop, etc. Quarterly trainings are ideal.

Research Support: data analysis, coding, categorizing, and develop forms.

Committee: Volunteers who have a particular skill or area of expertise are encouraged to provide support in the following committees: Development, Finance, Excellence Task Force (Programs).

Building Maintenance: Volunteers are need for help around the center with landscaping, painting, cleaning, and general handy work.


Annual Auction, March 3rd 2012

Auction Planning Committee: Be a part of the planning process for the biggest fundraiser of the year.

Auction Tracker data entry: September- November project; can work from home with internet access.

Event Support: Various Roles during the day and night of the event.

Event Prep: Packaging night, making baskets, files, behind the scenes work.


Group Opportunities

We are honored to have hosted volunteer groups from The Seattle Seahawks, Boeing, Microsoft, Telephone Pioneers, United Way Alexis de Toqueville Society, Hall Kinion & Associates, Camp Fire Boys & Girls, and The Overlake School. The following are just a few projects that these groups helped with:

  • Landscaping and painting
  • cleaning and repairing toys and therapy equipment
  • bulk mailing campaigns
  • decorated and designed holiday cards
  • procured auction items
  • hosted a picnic for our children, and many more.
